Lifetime resident of Hitchcock and one of the three founding members that sought state approval for the Hitchcock Industrial Development Corporation in 1976.
Has served a total of seven years as a City Commissioner and more than 9 years as Mayor.
Mr. Robinson was employed by Monsanto/Sterling Chemical in Texas City for 35 years; retiring as Administrative Services Supervisor in 1993. Read more
He also served as a company representative on the Texas City/La Marque Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and served two years as President.
Mr. Robinson is a member of the Hitchcock Chamber of Commerce where he has served a total of five years as Chamber President. He has also been a volunteer on the Annual Good Ole Days Festival and BBQ cook-off since 1976.
Anthony Matranga – Mayor City of Hitchcock Anthony has served as Mayor of Hitchcock for the past 7 years. Previously he served as City Commissioner since 1996.

Anthony attended and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1963. He received his Associates Degree from Alvin Junior College; and his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Houston at Clear Lake. Mr. Matranga worked for Houston Lighting & Power, now Center Point Energy, and retired after 39 years. Anthony was a Senior Power Consultant at the time of his retirement.
During the years Anthony has served on various boards and several in the capacity of President: Chambers of Commerce of Hitchcock, Texas City- LaMarque, Santa FE, and Galveston, Knights of Colombus, Rotary Club, Kiwanis International, Board member of Hitchcock Industrial Development, etc.
Anthony and his wife Sandra are raising their 10 year old daughter, Brooke. They also have 2 Adult children and 4 grandchildren.

Ricky Clifton, General Manager of Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority (GCA), began his tenure with GCA in 1974 at the Bayport Facility as Operations Supervisor. Working fulltime, he attended college earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Science in 1980 from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Read more
Mr. Clifton accepted the Manager position at the Campbell Bayou Facility beginning in 1994; in 2000, he became Manager for the 40-Acre Facility located just a mile down Loop 147 from the Campbell Bayou Facility; in July 2005, he was transferred to the Bayport Facility as Manager; and in 2007, Mr. Clifton was promoted to Manager of Industrial Operations joining the Senior Staff at the Central Office. In 2009, he was appointed Assistant General Manager of GCA, then in 2011, was appointed General Manager by the Board of Directors.
Mr. Clifton is and has been a working member and board member of several professional organizations; such as past President of the Texas Association of Clean Water Agencies (TACWA), currently serving on the board of directors of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, (NACWA), Texas Water Conservation Association, (TWCA), and the TWCA Risk Management Fund. Other professional affiliations include Water Environment Federation, Water Environment Association of Texas, Water Reuse Association and the American Water Works Association.
Clifton is a lifetime resident of Galveston County, he and his wife, Vicki live in Hitchcock.
